The Planetary Society Sweepstakes — Mauna Kea Stargazing Experience

1. Sweepstakes Overview

This sweepstakes is sponsored by The Planetary Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. By entering, you agree to be bound by the official rules.

Grand Prize (summary): A Mauna Kea stargazing experience including a 5-night luxury stay at The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort, a $2,500 travel stipend, a private Zoom Q&A with Bill Nye, Keck observatory access (logistics TBD), and a Mauna Kea Summit & Stars experience (potentially private).

2. Eligibility

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States
  • Void where prohibited by law

3. How to Enter

Standard Entry Method: Enter through the official TapKat sweepstakes page. Each qualifying entry constitutes one entry.

Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE): No purchase necessary. Follow the AMOE instructions on the TapKat sweepstakes page.

4. Prize Details

Prize details are governed by the official rules. Certain prize logistics are TBD, including Keck telescope access and tour arrangements.

5. Important Dates

  • Winner Drawing: May 29, 2026

The winner will be selected in a random drawing on the winner drawing date listed above. The winner will be contacted via the information provided during entry.

  • Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received
  • Prize is non-transferable and no cash substitute allowed except as described in the official rules
  • Winner must respond to notification within the timeframe described in the official rules
